Many people are aware of the issues facing our environment.  However, what you may not know is that propane is designated as an environmentally friendly fuel source and it meets the standards set by the federal Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA) for reducing acid rain and controlling air pollution in urban areas.

Did you know:

  • Virtually all propane is produced domestically

  • Using gas heat and water heaters in lieu of coal-fired electricity effectively offsets 8.5 tons of Greenhouse gases annually in one 2,500 square foot home

  • Gas water heaters produce 60% less carbon emissions than electric water heaters

  • Propane is non-toxic and insoluble so it offers minimal risk to aquifer and ground water supplies

  • 30 wood-burning houses create as much particulate pollution as 30,000 houses with gas logs

  • Propane Gas is about 98% efficient while coal-based electricity is about 28% efficient

Using propane reduces particulate emissions, outdoor pollution and Greenhouse gas emissions. There are many applications in which propane can be used as as a clean, safe alternative fuel source. To find out more, click on one of the links below.
